Trick or Treat!!!

Halloween was kind to us this year. Usually trick-or-treating in Minnesota requires gloves, hats, snowsuits, and plenty of tissues. We had the most perfect weather!! It was cool enough that the kids didn't sweat under the layers that I did make them wear, and warm enough that Braedin's hands stayed warm and no noses required wiping. YAY!!
Braedin had such a great time! He really enjoyed himself and I only had to carry him occasionally.

Taryn made a very spooky vampire. This also marked the first year that Taryn didn't poop out after the first few blocks. GO TARYN!!

Braedin just getting into the swing of things.

I am most proud of Devin's costume because I painted it myself. I bought a cheap costume that had a joke of a rib cage on the tunic and no leg bones at all. I took a small paint brush, a can of white latex paint, and my old anatomy textbook and painted a decent ribcage over the old one and on the blank canvas of the pants, painted a pelvic bone and leg bones. I also did his make-up and got several compliments on it.

A few of our neighbors had fog machines going in their yards. I love the way this picture turned out on the camera, and even more after editing it with Picasa.

Halloween Party at the Main's

I love this picture of the kids! They were so excited to go on the hayride. We had lots of fun! More Halloween pictures to come in about a week or so.

My Son...the Cat

I am really glad we didn't pay much for this cat climber.  It was not meant to support a three-year-old and is now almost thoroughly broken.

Sychronized Sleeping in the Truck

I don't know why exactly, but I never get tired of taking pictures of my kids while sleeping. I guess it has something to do with the facts that they are quiet and so innocent looking.

This looks a little more comfortable for Taryn.

And here comes....

Happy Birthday Devin!!!!

Yes, it's true...He has hit the double digits!!
This is Devin trying to avoid blowing out the candles until after we were done singing to him.
Devin decided to have a birthday party with his friends after school was in full swing so that he would be sure of who he wanted to invite and so that we would have time to get his new room finished. (Still have a ways to go on that...I plan on working on the rest of the painting tomorrow night)Posted by Picasa

First Day of School

So...it rained the first day of school. That's why Devin looks grumpy. I had them stand outside while I took pictures from inside the garage. :)
There's a smile! The kids were very excited to get back to school this year.

Pre-Haircut Fun

so...I had been putting some ponies into Taryn's hair when Braedin decided that he needed some too. After I had put them in, I realized how badly he needed a haircut. (of course he had been asking for one for awhile, should have listened) Well, he did get a haircut and got two inches cut off, but at least I have this picture for posterity.

Memory Lane

Memory Lane…the tag that gets everyone involved. I got this from my sister Liz's blog. I thought it would be fun! I hope you will play along. Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Devin learns to mow

Yep, it's about time to make him earn his keep. :) He didn't do alot of it, but he did walk around with Randy for both the front and back yards.

Playing in the rain

Okay, this is the first post on my blog, so bear with me. We recently went to Michigan to visit my family. It rained on one of the last days we were there and my sister Sarah and I decided to let the kids play in it. That is her daughter, Haley, sitting in a puddle.

Giving a three year old, 22 month old and a seven year old free rein to play in puddles can be so much fun.

Taryn, Braedin, and Haley had so much fun, it reminded me of playing in the rain when I was a kid.
